My journey kicked off with a bang when I landed an advertising sales gig in London, becoming the very first employee of an exciting startup. Talk about a thrilling challenge! New company, new industry, new skill set – it was a whirlwind of endless learning and growth. With each promotion and every milestone, I eagerly watched the company skyrocket, and I even had my own dream team to lead. I hadn’t realised as I was climbing the ranks that I had started to fall out of love with the tasks I had to do in my new role and I was consumed with negative thoughts.
Thoughts like "I'm not good enough," "I'm not smart enough," and "Only men can hold top positions" ran rampant in my mind. Imposter syndrome set in, and those negative beliefs even manifested as panic attacks. It felt like I was sinking!
But you know what? I refused to let those limiting beliefs define me. That's when I made a life-changing decision to hire a career coach near me.
