Where to begin when you want to find a new job?

Earlier this year I was invited back to my secondary school as a part of their ‘Find your Future’ careers week. It was a vibrant, diverse and stimulating event that got me thinking how useful a careers week could be for the people I coached during the Covid-19 pandemic, many of whom had been made redundant unexpectedly and now had to find whole new jobs - often in whole new industries.

Where do we start when we are looking for something new as adults? It is a question I am often asked and in the video above I share my tips for how to approach looking for a new job - whether its out of necessity or because you want to find a career that brings you more joy.

Working with a careers coach can help your research journey become more focused and results driven. Setting fortnightly goals to work towards and helping you get clarity on the skill set you already have can also help you to identify your gaps and work out a strategy for self-development.

When I made the leap from sales to people management, I worked with a careers coach to identify my strengths - things I was good at that actually fulfilled me - and now I can help you too. If you think career coaching could help you form a more positive mindset and extend your comfort zone then please get in touch with me today.
